ABOUT US
The Troupe was formed in 1982 and were registered as Lakeside and Thamesmead Baton Twirlers, On completion of the Lakeside Shopping complex our name was re-registered as Abbeywood & Thamesmead Twirlers. We have produced British national Champions and finalists for many years and are still very competitive achieving many awards. Many of the original members children compete with the Troupe and are used to the high standards expected on and off the competition floor. We are extremely lucky to have Melanie our fully qualified Coach and Judge who helped to start the Troupe at a very young age, she is also well known in the twirling world and she teaches her students to the standard that she achieved and beyond. The Troupe Director / Dressmaker is Sandy who is also well known in the twirling world who along with all our very supportive parents make it a happy and fun envioroment.
